French officials say two French-made Rafale fighter jets collided in the eastern part of the country, killing two military pilots and leaving one alive.
French President Emmanuel Macron has identified those killed in the Rafale plane crash as Captain Sebastien Mbere and Lieutenant Mathis Laurens.
French media say one of the two was a trainee pilot and the other a pilot.
French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecarno said on X that one pilot survived.
The aircraft were stationed at the Saint Désier military base in Colombo-les-Bales, northeastern France.
