French President Emmanuel Macron has identified those killed in the Rafale plane crash as Captain Sebastien Mbere and Lieutenant Mathis Laurens.
French media say one of the two was a trainee pilot and the other a pilot.
French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecarno said on X that one pilot survived.
The aircraft were stationed at the Saint Désier military base in Colombo-les-Bales, northeastern France.
