The police investigation has revealed that 4 suspects were involved in the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding member Dr. Shahid Siddique two days ago, while Dr. Siddique was involved in a property dispute over a laboratory in Multan.
Dr. Shahid Siddique, the owner of Iqra Medical Complex in Johar Town, was standing outside the Khizra Mosque in Valencia Town after performing Friday prayers when an unknown person approached him and opened fire. Dr. Shahid Siddique died of his injuries.
Police have registered a case against 4 unknown attackers and started investigation.
Police have also recorded statements of family members and eyewitnesses and collected video footage from CCTV cameras installed in nearby streets.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Dr. Siddique had a property dispute over a laboratory in Multan.
6 months ago he also filed an FIR in the Chhang police, in the FIR Dr. Shahid said that an unknown boy had fired at him but he escaped unhurt.
Investigations into this week’s attack suggest the attacker was a professional shooter and may have been hired by an opponent of Dr Shahid Siddique.
SSP Investigation Dr. Anush Masood said that one of the assailants fired at Shahid Siddique and fled with his three accomplices who were waiting for him in a car parked in the street.
He said that the family is in shock over the murder as they do not know the reason behind the attack.
