Hackers have hacked several high-profile TikTok accounts, targeting a flaw in video-sharing application TikTok’s Direct Message feature.
The security issue, called a zero-day vulnerability, was used to target official accounts of CNN and Sony, including reality TV star Paris Hilton.
TikTok said that the company has issued an update to prevent the issue from happening in the future and that the company is currently working with the users who were hacked.
According to a TikTok spokesperson, the company’s security team knows the number of targeted brands and celebrity accounts. The company has taken steps to prevent this from happening in the future.
A TikTok spokesperson added that the platform is committed to maintaining its reputation and will continue to monitor any unauthorized activity.
