The tenth anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar tragedy is being observed today, the wounds of this tragedy are still fresh today.
On December 16, 2014, the enemies of peace and education attacked APS Peshawar. The terrorists entered the building from the back of the school at around 10 am.
As soon as the terrorists entered the auditorium hall, they opened fire on all sides, staining the walls of the school with blood. 147 people, including 122 students, principal, teachers and other staff, were martyred in the terrorist firing.
The security forces had taken effective action and killed 6 terrorists. Later, the security forces arrested 6 terrorists involved in the APS attack and sentenced them to death by military courts.
Ten years have passed since the Army Public School tragedy, but the memories of this tragic incident are still alive in our hearts. Even today, the parents of the martyred children of the APS tragedy sit together and remember their children and try to share their grief by consoling each other.
President Asif Zardari paid tribute to the martyrs of APS in a special message on the 10th anniversary of the Army Public School tragedy.
The President said that incidents like the Army Public School tragedy expose the true face of terrorists and Khawarij. The APS tragedy united us as a nation against terrorism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his message that time cannot erase the trauma of this tragedy and the separation of these innocent children. Terrorists target innocent Pakistanis at the behest of foreign hostile elements.
