According to a foreign news agency, the protesters set fire to several buildings, including the police station and the town hall. The French government sent the army and police to control the situation.
The local people protested on the fear of becoming a minority due to electoral reforms.
More than one and a half billion euros were lost in the violent incidents in New Caledonia.
On the other hand, the Sikh community in Paris protested against India. In which Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum France also participated. According to Kashmir Media Service, on this occasion, the protesters highlighted the atrocities on minorities in India and Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
