California: A bug in iOS 17.5, the latest update released to iPhone users, is reportedly resurfacing some users’ deleted photos years ago.
Affected iPhone users discussed the bug on social networking platform Reddit, writing that after the iOS 17.5 update (which was rolled out on Monday), many of the photos that were deleted years ago were restored. Found again in the Photos app.
One user said that when he went to the Photos app to send a photo to his partner, the latest photos contained photos that had been deleted years ago. When they saw the iPad, those photos were there too.
Another user wrote that four of his photos from 2010 appeared in the latest iCloud update. He deleted these photos several times.
According to some users, iOS 17.5 may have made changes to the Photos app that will require re-indexing of photo libraries.
