Lahore: PCB has opened its treasury for the upgradation of stadiums before the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled in Pakistan next year. In the governing board meeting, a significant amount of Rs. 12.80 billion has been allocated for the venues of Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi. It was approved.
According to the details, after 4 months, the 72nd meeting of the PCB Governing Board was held at the National Cricket Academy Lahore yesterday. Ahmed, Tariq Sarwar, Dr. Anwar Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ismail Qureshi, Miraj Mehmood, Usama Azhar and Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi were also present.
In the beginning, Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza gave a briefing on the important features of the budget and other issues, later the budget estimates for the financial year 2024-25 were approved. Briefing was given about the preparations, approval was given to allocate 12 billion 80 crore rupees for the upgradation project of the three stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi from the development budget.
During the meeting, concerns were expressed over the current domestic structure, funds of Rs. 4 billion 50 crores were allocated for improvement and the increase in the contract of domestic cricketers was also approved.
During the meeting, it was also decided that PCB will maintain 12 grounds itself to promote domestic cricket, the board will also provide funds for staff and maintenance of 100 grounds across Pakistan. The women’s cricket budget was increased for the first time from Rs 7 crore to Rs 24 crore and the increase in the central contract was also approved.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi says that the upgradation work of the stadiums will be completed before the Champions Trophy, this will improve the facilities for cricket fans, arrangements will be made according to international standards for the event, tournaments and matches. Working on new venues.
