BEIJING: Social media platform TikTok has announced that the company is going to add a feature of group chats on the platform that will allow up to 32 people to join.
This feature will be available for users aged 16 years and above, using which users will be able to share TikTok with their friends and relatives without opening a separate messaging app.
Users can start a group chat by tapping on the inbox button, selecting their friends after tapping on chat.
Note that you can only join a group when you receive an invitation from someone you follow. Moreover, if you do not allow someone to message you on the platform, you will not receive any invitations from them.
The rules are slightly different for users under 18 years of age. These users can only join a group chat if at least one person in the group who follows them back is in the group. Teens who create group chats will have to personally view and approve the request to join the group.
