Thousands of people celebrated the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria.
According to a foreign news agency, thousands of people took to the streets of various cities, including the capital Damascus, on Friday to celebrate the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Thousands of people gathered at the Umayyad Grand Mosque and Umayyad Square in Damascus. The celebrants set off fireworks, sang national songs, and shouted slogans against Bashar al-Assad and his associates.
In other cities, people also celebrated the fall of the Assad regime by taking to the streets and alleys. They waved Syrian flags and demanded that Bashar al-Assad’s associates be punished.
Ahmed al-Shara, commander of the Military Operations Department, which includes Tahrir al-Sham and allied groups, appealed to the people to take to the streets on Friday to celebrate the success of the revolution. Ahmed al-Shara said in a video message that he congratulated the great Syrian people on the victory of the blessed revolution. I invite the public to come out to the squares to express their joy, but the public should not celebrate by firing bullets into the air and terrorizing people.
