Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that we don’t know where the clean and transparent government came from, we have improved with our collective efforts, there is a lot to fix, for which we have to work hard.
Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, he said that we have taken steps to reduce electricity theft. The government is trying to make electricity cheaper by taking decisions related to transmission lines to reduce electricity theft.
Shahbaz Sharif said that our exports and remittances have increased, steps are being taken for economic reforms. A few days ago the report on the economic situation was published, the report talked about the improvement of the economic indicators.
He said that FBR earns trillions of rupees and is stuck in billions of liabilities. Expected inflow of billions of rupees for the nation was completely wasted, FBR spends 10 billion leaving 1 billion to get the money into the exchequer.
The Prime Minister said that he reviewed some issues in the past few days which were nothing but a joke to the nation. The track and trace system of cigarette manufacturing was nothing but fraud. An inquiry committee has been formed on the contract of track and trace system which will give a report within 72 hours regarding the contract.
Criticizing the Tehreek-e-Insaf government, he said that it is not known from where a clean and transparent government was run. In a period of 4 and a half years, the nation lost trillions in taxes, those who harmed the economy will be held accountable.
He further said that even a penny of the nation will not be wasted, improving the economy is the priority. Investment and privatization in the country is progressing rapidly.
