Makkah-ul-Mukramah: The administration of Masjid Al-Haram and the General Presidency of Al-Haramain al-Sharifin changed the cover of the Kaaba as Muharram began.
According to the details, this year also the administration changed the cover of the Kaaba with the beginning of the new Islamic year i.e. Muharram 1446 Hijri.
The cover of the Kaaba (kiswah) was brought in a truck, after which the vehicles and followers carried it to the Kaaba, and then the old cover was removed and a new one was placed on it.
Thousands of worshipers and pilgrims were present in Masjid al-Haram during the changing of the cover of the Kaaba to be a part of this soulful ceremony.
According to the Arab media report, 159 technicians and craftsmen participated in the work of changing the cover of the Kaaba.
120 kg of gold and 100 kg of silver thread are used in the preparation of the cover of the Kaaba, while more than 200 people participate in its preparation. The materials used in every manufacturing process are thoroughly checked.
It should be noted that pieces of the old cover of the Kaaba are sent as gifts by the Saudi government to dignitaries around the world.
