Karachi: The selectors will go to Kakul today to convince Babar Azam.
The selectors will visit Kakul on Saturday to convince Babar Azam to take over the captaincy, it was decided in a meeting presided over by chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
The PCB initially wants to appoint Babar as the captain till this year’s World Cup, but they are in favor of a long-term appointment, the selectors will assure him of making him a competent captain.
Sources close to Babar are advising that the board is on the back foot at the moment, so try to meet the demands, however, this approach may backfire, if Babar does not show flexibility, other options are also out of the question. Unlikely, the board may announce the captain in a press conference on Sunday.
