ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari conferred the military honors of Stara Basalat, Tagha Basalat, Hilal Imtiaz, Stara Imtiaz and Tagha Imtiaz to the officers and soldiers of the armed forces.
According to ISPR, a ceremony was held in the President’s House to give military honors to military officers and personnel, in which one star and 135 medals were given by the President. SSG soldier Asrar Muhammad was awarded the Basalat Star and Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Shaheed was awarded the Basalat Medal.
According to ISPR, 23 Hilal Imtiaz, 109 Star Distinction and 137 Tamgha Imtiaz were given to officers and soldiers. 45 Distinction Certificates and 148 Chief of Army Staff Appreciation Certificates were also given in the ceremony.
During the ceremony, Major General Saeedur Rehman Sarwar, Major General Mohammad Asim Khan and Major General Nadeem Yousuf were awarded Hilal Imtiaz while Major Mohammad Jawad Shaheed and Major Mian Abdullah Shah Shaheed were awarded Basalat Medal. Similarly, Lieutenant Colonel Safdar Ali Khan was also awarded Basalat medal.
