Lahore: The move to attribute important places to Nawaz Sharif and other politicians was challenged in the court.
In the petition filed in the Lahore High Court, Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Local Government and others have been made parties, challenging the move to name government buildings, roads and parks after Nawaz Sharif and other politicians.
Petition Mishkoor Hussain, in the petition filed through the mediation of Nadeem Sarwar Advocate, took a position that Khawaja Asif changed the hospital named after Allama Iqbal’s mother Imam Bibi to his father’s name. There are many government buildings and roads named after Pakistani politicians Nawaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz, Shehbaz Sharif and Ghulam Dastgir etc.
The petition states that public money cannot be used for personal publicity. Government buildings can be named after national heroes, eminent persons in the world of science and literature. All government buildings, parks and hospitals named after politicians should be declared illegal and renamed.
