The meeting of the National Economic Council has started under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. In the meeting, the annual plan for the next financial year will be approved.
The meeting will consider the 13th five-year plan. Public investment for the financial year 2023-24 will also be reviewed.
Apart from this, review of the progress report of ECNIC, progress report of the Central Development Working Party so far will also be considered. Provincial chief ministers, federal and provincial ministers and other officials will participate in the meeting.
The economic growth target for the next fiscal year is proposed to be 3.6 percent. The economic growth target for the current fiscal year (2023..24) was set at 3.5 percent.
