ISLAMABAD: The schedule of talks between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the economic team of the Ministry of Finance has been prepared, according to which the IMF delegation will arrive in Pakistan tonight.
According to sources, the IMF’s review mission will review Pakistan’s program from March 14.
An important meeting was held in the Ministry of Finance under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, in which the progress of the ongoing program with the IMF was reviewed and the preparations for negotiations with the IMF Review Mission were reviewed.
Negotiations with the IMF will be held from March 14 to 18 and in case of success of the negotiations, an installment of one billion and 10 million dollars will be released to Pakistan. The upcoming loan program is also expected to be discussed during the visit of the IMF review mission.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the IMF mission will hold talks with the economic team from March 14 to 18 for the economic assessment. The IMF mission will hold talks with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy, FBR officials, State Bank officials, Planning Commission and Petroleum Division.
