Tehran: The last rites of Iran’s President Ibrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter accident, will begin today.
According to Iranian officials, the funeral of President Ibrahim Raisi will begin from Tabriz. Processions will be held in Qom, Tabriz, Tehran and Mashhad.
Officials further say that the bodies of President Raisi and other deceased persons will be brought from Tabriz to Qom where a condolence ceremony will be held. The funeral prayers of those who died in the capital Tehran will be offered on Wednesday. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei will lead the funeral prayers of the Iranian president and others.
The process of paying the last rites of the president of Iran will start from Tabriz today.
Ibrahim Raisi will be buried on Friday night in Mashhad in the premises of Imam Raza’s shrine. Ayatollah Al Hashem will be buried in Tabriz on Friday, while the governor of East Azerbaijan will be buried in Maragha city.
