The former champion team of Pakistan Super League (PSL) has demanded to hold the matches in Peshawar.
According to sources, franchise owner of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, in an email to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), expressed surprise that no match of season 10 was held in Peshawar (home ground).
He asked for Zalmi’s matches to be held at the home ground and demanded the participation of Peshawar in the venues and also requested the cooperation of Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi in completing the remaining 20% construction work of the stadium.
Javed Afridi wrote in the letter that his team will meet Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin on May 13 so that coordination among all stakeholders regarding the stadium is possible.
He requested Mohsin Naqvi to form a committee to ensure PSL matches in Peshawar, this will help in organizing a successful event.
On the other hand, according to sources, the Chief Minister also approved the remaining funds for the construction work, so now the ball is in the board’s court.
