ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has stopped releasing the final results of a total of 26 seats of the National and Provincial Assemblies.
Two benches were formed to hear the petitions related to election excuses in the Election Commission. Bench number one includes member Sindh Nisar Durrani and member Balochistan Shah Muhammad Jatoi while bench number two includes member Punjab Babar Hasan Bharwana and member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ikramullah Khan.
Member Nisar Durrani said that the one who lost is celebrating and the one who won is making allegations of rigging, how long will this attitude last? Losing and winning is the beauty of democracy.
The Special Secretary Election Commission said that the returning officers have released the final results in most of the constituencies, withholding the results at this point will delay the next steps.
Lawyer Babar Awan said that the February 8 election was conducted properly, but he is not complaining to the Election Commission about what happened on February 9. Strict action should be taken against the returning officer who violated the oath.
Babar Awan demanded a recount of votes in NA-106 Toba Tek Singh, on which the Election Commission sought a report from the Returning Officer, withholding final results in NA 106 Toba Tek Singh.
The Election Commission has declared PB 14 Naseerabad, PB 44 Quetta, PP 33 Gujarat, PP 126 Jhang and PP 128 Jhang, PP 7 Sargodha, PP 133 Nankana Sahib, PP 15 Rawalpindi, PP 43 Mandi Bahauddin. , pp 12 Rawalpindi, pp 53, pp 4 Attock, pp 121 Toba Tek Singh, pp 279 Leh, pp 17 Rawalpindi and pp 6 Murree withheld final results.
Similarly, NA 56 Rawalpindi, NA 53 Rawalpindi, NA 60 Jhelum, NA 69 Mandi Bahauddin, NA 57 Rawalpindi, NA 52 Rawalpindi, NA 126 Lahore, NA 127 Lahore and NA 87 Khushab are final. Release of results was also stopped.
