ISLAMABAD: It has been revealed that a total of 49 thousand 629 billion rupees local debt is owed by the federal government by the year 2030.
This disclosure has been made by the officials of the Economic Affairs Division, according to which the federal government has to repay the maximum local debt of 13 thousand 269 billion rupees in 2024.
12 thousand 723 billion in 2025, seven thousand 684 billion in 2026, 4 thousand 758 billion in 2027, 5 thousand 608 billion in 2028.
4153 billion in 2029, 1434 billion in 2030, the government has taken the highest 59% debt through investment bonds.
According to the details of local debt due by the government till 2030, these loans are taken through investment bonds, treasury bills, sukuk and savings schemes.
The loan due in the next 5 years includes principal and interest. 22 percent of the debt was taken through T-bills and 10 percent through sukuk bonds, the remaining debt was taken in the form of national savings schemes and prize bonds.
