ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has stopped the Returning Officers from issuing final notifications of the success of candidates for various constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly in the 2024 general elections.
A 4-member bench headed by the Chief Election Commissioner heard the alleged alteration of results in NA-48.
The lawyer of PTI candidate Ali Bukhari argued that Ali Bukhari was successful according to Form 45, the Returning Officer issued Form 47 against our request, our lead of 50 thousand was eliminated.
The Election Commission has issued a notice to the successful independent candidate Raja Khurram Nawaz nominated by the Satwath Party and prevented the Returning Officer from issuing the final notification of NA 47 and 48 from Islamabad.
Similarly, a hearing was held against the results of PK 73, PK 79, 80 and PK 82. The Election Commission stopped the returning officers from releasing the final results in both the constituencies. Taimur Saleem from PK 79 and Kamran Bangash from PK 82 have challenged the results.
Besides, the results of NA 28, NA 49 Attock, NA 50 Attock, NA 55 Rawalpindi, NA 63 and NA 65 were also challenged in the Election Commission.
The results of PB 01, PP 11, PP 20, PP 14, PP 16, PP 31, PP 33, PP 59 were also challenged in the Election Commission.
The Election Commission stopped ROs from the final results on 10 seats of the National Assembly and 16 seats of the Provincial Assembly across the country.
