Islamabad: Telecom companies have agreed to block the mobile SIMs of more than 56,000 non-filers in the country.
The chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been assured by the telecom companies that the mobile SIMs of more than 56,000 non-filers will be blocked in one to one and a half weeks.
Chairman FBR Malik Amjad Zubair Towana has been met by officials of telecom companies, in which he assured to block the mobile phone SIMs of more than 56,000 non-filers and said that in the next few days, non-filers SIMs will be blocked.
The representatives of the telecom companies in a meeting with the Chairman FBR said that the companies fully comply with the laws of the country. Messages will be sent to non-filers to submit income tax returns, after which mobile SIMs will be restored after clearance from FBR of non-filers who have submitted tax returns.
