ISLAMABAD: As a result of the efforts of SIFC, pharmaceutical exports from Pakistan are increasing significantly.
Due to the ongoing efforts under the export friendly policy of the Special Investment Facility Council, the pharmaceutical industry is on the path of development and during the financial year 2023-24, an increase of 3.90 percent was seen in the exports of medicines from the country compared to the previous year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the exports of medicines during the current financial year are encouraging, compared to the exports of 328 million dollars in the previous financial year. In terms of quantity, the exports of medicines also increased by 44% from 59,00 metric tons to 85,00 metric tons.
On a year-on-year basis, the export of pharmaceuticals in the month of June 2024 was almost 33% higher than the same month last year.
The data further states that in June 2024, the exports of medicines were recorded at 29 million dollars, while in June 2023, the exports were 22 million dollars. The increase in pharmaceutical exports is a prime example of SIFC’s contribution to this industry. The economic development of the country with the support of SIFC is the guarantee of a safe and strong Pakistan.
