Peshawar: Bushra Bibi, wife of the founding chairman PTI Imran Khan, who denies politics, has become a political player. After Nusrat Bhutto, Begum Naseem Wali Khan and Kulsoom Nawaz, Bushra Bibi became a player in the political arena for the release of her husband.
Participating in the PTI rally from Peshawar to Islamabad has become Bushra Bibi’s first journey in her political life. Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi remained politically isolated. Even after Imran Khan’s arrest, she did not become a part of the protest politics of the PTI.
After being released on bail, she came to Peshawar. When Imran Khan gave the final call for the Islamabad protest, she became active in the protest.
In her first meeting, Bushra Bibi said that she had no institution to enter politics. She came out of compulsion. Bushra Bibi became a political player by doing nothing.
Bushra Bibi is not the first woman to come out of domestic life and enter the political arena for the release of her husband. Before her, Begum Naseem Wali Khan was part of the movement for the release of her husband Khan Abdul Wali, Nusrat Bhutto for Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Kulsoom Nawaz for the release of Nawaz Sharif.
When Nawaz Sharif was arrested, Kulsoom Nawaz also came to Iqbal Zafar Jhagra’s house in Peshawar along with Maryam Nawaz and announced to launch a movement for the release of Nawaz Sharif from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Begum Naseem Wali Khan also did electoral politics, but Kulsoom Nawaz remained part of the movement only until Nawaz Sharif’s release, now Bushra Bibi has also become part of the movement for the release of Imran Khan.
