California: Instant messaging application WhatsApp has tested a new feature that will allow users to update status from the desktop version.
According to the WhatsApp beta info, this feature being tested by the company will only allow Apple Mac users to post status updates from their desktop app version.
A similar feature for uploading statuses from a linked device was rolled out for Android users last December.
Now WhatsApp has rolled out the exact same feature for Mac users in its latest beta version 24.11.73.
After installing the latest update on an Apple Mac, users will see a new status icon on the sidebar. Tapping on it will open a new window with a pencil and camera icon, which means the user can share the status in a photo or text.
This feature is currently in testing stages and is expected to be rolled out for Mac users soon. However, no final date has been announced by the company.
