According to the news agency, the South Korean cabinet has approved the lifting of martial law.
There was a strong reaction against the imposition of martial law in the country, and strong opposition was also expressed by South Korean members of parliament, 190 members of the 300-member parliament voted against martial law.
The public also took to the streets against the president’s decision, after which the police and special forces of the army blocked the entrances to the parliament and prevented members from entering the parliament, but the members broke through the police cordon and entered the parliament.
According to the news agency, a large number of citizens have taken to the streets in the capital Seoul and are celebrating the withdrawal of the martial law decision.
