KARACHI: After the federal government and Punjab, the Sindh government will present the budget for the next financial year today.
The Sindh government will present a budget of more than 3 thousand billion rupees today. In which there is a possibility of 20 to 25 percent increase in salaries of government employees and 15 percent increase in pension.
The development budget of the province is expected to be more than 900 billion. Karachi Mega Schemes worth 12 billion will be included in the budget, while it has been decided to introduce a new portfolio in the provincial development program instead of new schemes.
According to the sources, the provincial revenue collection target will be increased and there is a proposal to change the rate of various revenue.
The provincial government has decided to reduce the purchase of vehicles in the next financial year. An austerity policy will also be adopted for the purchase of furniture and other items.
The budget includes proposals to promote video conference meetings instead of official visits abroad to reduce the province’s expenses.
Yesterday, the Punjab government presented its tax-free budget of 5 thousand 446 billion rupees. The total income was estimated at 4,643 billion 40 crores while under the NFC award, 3,683 billion 10 crores will be received from the Federation.
