Sindh Cabinet approves Agricultural Income Tax Bill 2025, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah says that the Agricultural Income Tax Bill will be implemented from January 2025, Sindh government has not included livestock in Agricultural Income Tax.
In a meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh Cabinet approved the Agricultural Income Tax Bill 2025.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah says that the Agricultural Income Tax Bill will be implemented from January 2025, Sindh government has not included livestock in Agricultural Income Tax.
According to the Sindh government spokesperson, the agricultural income tax will be collected by the Sindh Board of Revenue (SBR) instead of the Board of Revenue (BOR), in case of natural disasters, there will be adjustments in Agricultural Income Tax, and a fine will be imposed in case of concealment of cultivated land.
According to the spokesperson, 20 percent agricultural tax will be imposed on small companies and 28 percent on large companies, while those earning agricultural income up to Rs 150 million will be exempt from agricultural income tax.
According to the Sindh government spokesperson, one percent tax will be imposed on agricultural income between Rs 150 million and 200 million, 2 percent on agricultural income between Rs 200 million and 250 million, 3 percent on agricultural income between Rs 250 million and 300 million, and 4 percent on agricultural income between Rs 300 million and 350 million.
According to the spokesperson, 6 percent will be imposed on agricultural income between Rs 350 million and 400 million, 8 percent on agricultural income between Rs 400 million and 500 million, and 10 percent on agricultural income above Rs 500 million.
The Sindh cabinet said that Sindh should have been taken into confidence before talking to the IMF, the Sindh Chief Minister said that he would talk to the federal government again.
The Sindh cabinet said that the imposition of agricultural income tax will increase the prices of vegetables, and the imposition of agricultural tax will also make wheat, rice and other commodities more expensive. The Sindh Chief Minister said that the Sindh cabinet is approving the agricultural tax in the interest of the country.
