Rawalpindi: The Punjab government became active in the matter of grand party jirga and jalsa of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Swabi.
Section 144 has been implemented in Rawalpindi city and a notification has been issued according to which all kinds of gatherings including meetings, processions, rallies and display of weapons will be strictly prohibited.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema while issuing a notification said that the implementation of Section 144 is from November 8 to 10.
Rawalpindi and Attock police were alerted to deal with any emergency regarding the PTI convoys going from Punjab.
On behalf of Central Police Office Lahore, one and a half thousand police force of Punjab Constabulary and Highway Patrolling Police including DPOs of four districts were handed over to RPO Rawalpindi. The letter was also issued.
All the forces will be equipped with necessary tear gas shells and other anti-riot equipment to deal with the riots, fuel and transportation of the force, food and lodging arrangements will also be the responsibility of CPO Rawalpindi and DPO Attock.
