Mumbai: Popular Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has revealed that he was keen to cast Pakistani actors in his web series ‘Hira Mandi: The Diamond Bazaar’.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has entered the OTT platform through the web series ‘Hira Mundi: The Diamond Bazaar’ which was released on Netflix on May 1.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sensational web series ‘Hira Mandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ features seven songs while a whole year was spent building the film’s magnificent sets.
The mega cast of this series includes Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditya Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sherman Segal and Fardeen Khan.
After the premiere of ‘Hira Mandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, a recent interview of Sanjay Leela Bhansali is doing the rounds on social media, in which he made an important revelation about the cast of the series.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that regarding the web series ‘Hiramundi’ I had more than one casting in mind, I was thinking about making this series for the last 18 years.
The Indian filmmaker said that the idea of making this series came to my mind when Rekhaji, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee were ruling Bollywood, so I decided to cast these three actresses in my web series ‘Hiramundi’. I thought
He said that when I thought of making a project on the history of ‘Hiramundi’, at that time, I wanted to make a film on Hiramundi, not a series.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that I had thought of including Pakistani actors Fawad Khan, Imran Abbas and Mahira Khan in the cast of Hiramundi.
The filmmaker continued and added, “Then I have finalized the current cast of ‘Hiramundi’ for my series and I am very happy that the entire cast has played their role brilliantly.”
