ISLAMABAD / MOSCOW: Russia has issued a warning to ban the import of rice to Pakistan.
According to details, Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (FSVPS) has issued a notification regarding violations of international and Russian phytosanitary requirements on the consignment of rice imported from Pakistan.
The notification identified the presence of an insect, Megacilia scolaris (Lo) in the rice consignment and called for an immediate investigation into the matter by the Trade Representative of the Pakistani Embassy.
