Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that he appreciates Safra’s role in promoting dialogue and cooperation between Pakistan and his countries, the holy month of Ramadan has a special religious and social significance for Muslims around the world, mutual harmony. He said that Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on the principles of peace, equality and justice, Pakistan will be a pioneer of multilateralism, peace, development and mutual prosperity. The countries of the Asia Pacific group have supported Pakistan in this regard. Pakistan wants the support of all other countries for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council.
The Foreign Minister said that during his term in the Council, Pakistan will promote the Council’s mandate to maintain international peace and security. In the month of Ramadan, we must not forget the Muslims of Gaza. Faced with hunger and war for months. The time has come for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. The UN Security Council has called for a ceasefire.
Ishaq Dar said that the dream of peace and prosperity cannot be realized without the resolution of regional conflicts. The long-standing conflicts including Palestine and Kashmir should be resolved on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council.
