Islamabad: An increase of 4 thousand 622 billion rupees was recorded in Pakistan’s local debt.
According to the report, local debt increased to 43 thousand 432 billion rupees by March. At the beginning of the current financial year, the volume of local loans on Pakistan was 38 thousand 809 billion rupees.
In the current financial year, the external debt decreased by 89 billion rupees to 21 thousand 941 billion rupees. The external liabilities of the government increased by 6 percent to 3,284 billion rupees.
According to the report, the agreement with the IMF is likely to further increase local and external debt.
