ISLAMABAD: In the first 9 months of the current financial year, remittances from the European Union recorded a growth of 9.2 percent on an annual basis, while the United Arab Emirates invested 16.5 million dollars in direct investment in Pakistan during the first 7 months of the current financial year. .
According to State Bank statistics, in the first 9 months of this financial year, Pakistanis living in EU member countries sent foreign exchange worth 2.563 billion dollars, which is 9.2 percent more than the same period of the previous financial year. Foreign exchange of 2.347 billion dollars was received from the European Union during the period. The volume of remittances from the European Union in March was 314.7 million dollars, which was 297.5 million dollars in March last year.
Meanwhile, according to the data of the Board of Investment, during the first 7 months of the current financial year, direct investment of 16.5 million dollars was made from the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan.
