Occupied Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced to attack Rafah once again.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said in a statement that the date has been set for a full-scale military attack on the densely populated city of Rafah. Rafah will definitely be attacked.
Netanyahu further said that the attack on Rafah is also aimed at destroying the last stronghold of Hamas in the south of Gaza. The Israeli prime minister did not comment on the final date of the attack.
Rafah city is located in the south of Gaza along the border with Egypt, which is currently home to more than 1.5 million Palestinian refugees who have been displaced after the Israeli attacks on Gaza in October last year.
On the other hand, the US says that Netanyahu is still against any major attack on Rafah. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the Israeli attack would pose a major threat to the civilian population in Rafah and would create problems for Israel’s own security.
