After the defeat by Islamabad United in the second eliminator match of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam’s position came to the fore.
During the presentation at the end of the match, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam attributed the defeat in the important match to poor bowling and said that we were in a good position in the first 11 overs but after that our bowling was very bad.
“Our bowlers thought we had won, which led to our defeat,” he said.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi, batting first, gave Islamabad United a target of 186 runs to win, in pursuit of which United did not start well, Alex Hales 1, Agha Salman 5 and captain Shadab Safar proved to be guests while Martin Guptill. 34 and Azam Khan could score 22 runs. At one point, the United team could only score 91 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 11 overs.
Later, Imad Wasim and Hyder Ali put on a partnership of 98 runs in 8 overs to snatch the match from Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi and reach the final.
