New Delhi: Farmers from across the country protested against the anti-farmer policies of the Modi government in India, marching in tractors, vehicles and on foot to the capital where Modi’s fort will be encircled.
According to Indian media, farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab started arriving in New Delhi in thousands who will continue to sit on the borders of Delhi until the demands are accepted.
Farmer leaders say that they will not go home until their demands are approved and if necessary, they will also surround the Prime Minister’s House. They are ready to go to any extent for their legitimate demands.
Before the “Delhi Chalo March” of the farmers, the Indian police blockaded the borders of Singhu, Gazipur and Tikri to prevent the arrival of the protestors. Put nails on the roads to stop the vehicles.
Modi government deployed more than 5000 security personnel around Delhi before Kisan March. Section 144 has been imposed in various districts while internet service is suspended.
The Indian police is also closely monitoring the public transport entering New Delhi. Since February 11, people are suffering from severe anxiety due to tight security around the borders of Delhi.
It should be remembered that in 2019 and 2021, the farmers had marched to the capital against the controversial and discriminatory policy of the federal government, but each time after the issues were settled, the implementation was not carried out.
