KARACHI: Karachi Customs Agents Association has proposed a feeder vessel service between Gwadar, Karachi and Bin Qasim ports.
Karachi Customs Agents Association has proposed to start feeder vessel services between Gwadar Port, Karachi Port and Port Bin Qasim to facilitate transportation of bonded and non-bonded consignments, in a letter sent to Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Gwadar Port Authority. has been given, on which the Ministry of Maritime Affairs has also indicated to review.
KCAA General Secretary Mehmoodul Hasan says that as a result of the implementation of the above proposal, the volume of commercial activities at Gwadar port will not only increase but also the speed of development of this important port will be accelerated.
He said that in order to increase the volume of revenue, dry docks should be established near Gwadar port for repairing ships, while in order to increase the traffic of ships in Pakistani ports, sales tax should be abolished on the registration of ships, innovation in travel and commercial operations. It is the need of the hour to introduce a ferry service between Port Qasim and Karachi Port in order to speed it up.
