Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the construction of the world-class Quaid-e-Azam Health Tower in Islamabad.
A meeting regarding the affairs of the Ministry of National Health was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister said that in addition to hospitals of the best quality, a medical university should also be included in the health tower, while a nursing university, laboratories equipped with modern technology and disease diagnosis centers should also be established.
Expressing serious concern over new cases of polio in the country, the Prime Minister said that he will ensure the complete eradication of polio by utilizing the country’s resources and with the help of partners.
He also appointed health professionals of the best ability in the Ministry of National Health and its affiliated institutions, including conducting a third-party audit of the quality and performance of laboratories under the Ministry of National Health, setting up a plan of action to separate drug pricing from Drape. And directed to conduct human resource audit of all government hospitals in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister directed to conduct an audit of nursing schools and colleges across the country and said that he will personally monitor the health of Islamabad.
