Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has called a federal cabinet meeting today (Tuesday) to review the upcoming federal budget. The budget is likely to be presented in the National Assembly tomorrow (Wednesday).
A source in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said it would also give the prime minister an opportunity to take his aides into confidence on the decisions taken during his recent visit to China.
Additionally, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will launch the 2023–2024 Economic Survey on Tuesday afternoon, which will assess the country’s economic performance over the past year.
Also, in a meeting with Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the Prime Minister invited the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to increase its investment in Pakistan’s tourism sector.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Prince Rahim Aga Khan on receiving the Nishan Pakistan Award and thanked him for establishing various social welfare projects in the less developed and remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
He said that the implementation of various welfare projects in Pakistan in education, health, agriculture, tourism, IT and other sectors is commendable, besides the newly launched software technology park and solar power plants in Hunza are also highly commendable. .
