Islamabad: The trend of continuous decrease in the rate of inflation in the country is continuing and in the recent week the rate of inflation has decreased by 1.06 percent while the rate of inflation has decreased to 21.22 percent on an annual basis.
According to the weekly report released by the Federal Statistics Agency, the prices of 16 essential commodities including wheat flour, tomato, onion, garlic, petrol and diesel have decreased in recent weeks, while the prices of 20 essential commodities including eggs, meat have increased. And the prices of 15 items have remained stable.
According to the weekly inflation report issued by the Federal Statistical Office, tomato, onion, garlic, wheat flour, banana, rice, red chili, lentil lentil became cheaper. The prices of petrol, diesel, LPG have also decreased in the last week.
According to the report, the price of tomato decreased by 27 rupees per kg in the recent week. The price of onion per kg decreased by more than 27 rupees. In a week, garlic became cheaper by Rs 46 per kg.
On the other hand, the prices of potatoes, beef, mutton, pulses, eggs, chicken, cloth and wood have increased. Last week, the price of potatoes increased by 1 rupee 28 paisa per kg. Beef became expensive by Rs 10 and mutton by Rs 20 per kg.
Lentils, chickpeas and eggs went up to Rs 3 per kg and eggs up to Rs 2 per dozen. If we compare the prices on an annual basis, compared to last year, onion has increased by 88%, red pepper by 70%, while garlic has increased by 62%, tomato by 36%, and salt by 33% in one year.
According to the report, the price of beef increased by 24%, dal mash by 22%, and sugar by 21% on an annual basis. Gas charges increased by 570% in one year. Compared to last year, wheat flour, chicken, ghee, cooking oil, LPG have become cheaper.
