Islamabad: Work on the budget draft for the next fiscal year has begun, ministries have started seeking budget suggestions from their subordinate bodies.
According to sources, the Ministry of Commerce has sought budget suggestions from subordinate bodies, associations and chambers and has directed them to provide budget suggestions by February 15.
According to sources, the Ministry of Commerce has sought tariff-related suggestions for the fiscal year 2025-26, and has also been directed to review the current customs tariff rates.
The Ministry of Commerce has also directed local manufacturers seeking tariff concessions to provide relevant data.
Sources say that suggestions have also been sought from DRAP, EDB and Pakistan Business Council, as well as ICAP, APTMA, Chemicals and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association.
