Lahore: The time for polling in the by-elections for 5 vacant seats of the National Assembly and 16 vacant seats of the Provincial Assembly in the country has ended and now the counting of votes is going on.
Polling started at 8 am and continued till 5 pm without any break. Mobile and internet services are off in election areas.
Arguments and clashes also took place between political workers at several polling stations including Government Primary School Nizampura and Polling Station No. 33 Kotnaju.
The polling process was stopped due to firing in some places, but the polling was restored after the situation was brought under control by the police force.
PP 54 In village Kotnajo of Narowal, a fight broke out between PML-N and PTI workers during which a PML-N worker was killed. The opponents hit the head with a stick during the dispute, which seriously injured the elderly. 60-year-old Muhammad Yusuf was brought to the hospital but he died before reaching the hospital.
