Due to changes in global prices and plans to increase taxes by the federal government, the prices of petroleum products are likely to increase.
According to sources, the price of petrol will be increased by Rs 8 per liter today. Petrol price may go up to Rs 298 per litre. Apart from this, the price of diesel is likely to increase by Rs 2 per litre.
On the other hand, unofficial reports claim that the government is considering increasing the petroleum levy from Rs 60 to Rs 100 per litre.
The government is expected to announce the new prices of petroleum products on the night of April 15.
