ISLAMABAD: The Attorney General’s Office has sent suggestions regarding the pending tax cases to the Chairman FBR.
In the letter, the Attorney General’s Office referred to the case of more than one billion revenue pending in the Supreme Court and said that the Ministry of Industries and Production and the Revenue Division filed conflicting responses in the case, on which the court expressed its displeasure. In the case of two ministries, a reply should be filed by the Attorney General’s Office.
The Attorney General’s Office has asked the FBR to appoint a focal person for coordination. A letter from the Additional Attorney General is also attached, stating that hiring different lawyers for the same petitions leads to lack of coordination and waste of public money.
