KARACHI: Satellite Paksat MM1, developed by joint efforts of Pakistan and China, will be launched on May 30.
According to the details, this month, Pakistan has announced the introduction of another multi-mission satellite, which has been jointly developed by the engineers of Pakistan and China. Some parts of the satellite have been completely developed in Pakistan.
The new space mission will be useful for simultaneous TV broadcasting, broadband, mobile networking, while it will also enable facilities like fiber optic in the remote areas of the country, including the northern regions, and the satellite A-band 10 gigabytes with a lifespan of up to 15 years. per second capacity.
Paksat MM1 has the capability to act as a backup in case of any technical failure in mobile networking on land. Sparco, Pakistan’s national space agency, said that the communication multi-mission will be launched from China’s Wenchang Launch Center.
Paksat MM1 satellite is a joint venture between Sparko and Chinese Aerospace Industry, which will operate for the next 15 years.
After the launch, the satellite will probably start providing its service in August this year, Paksat MM1 provides coverage to the whole of Pakistan with KA band capacity of 10 gigabits per second.
It should be noted that currently 2 communication satellites of Pakistan are in space, the first of them Paksat One R was launched in 2011, which was also 15 years old, which will be completed in 2026. While talking to Express News, he said that this satellite will be very helpful in meeting the communication and connectivity needs of the country and it will be an important step in transforming the country into Digital Pakistan.
He said that its concept has been developed keeping in mind the growing needs of the country in the wide field of communication, the special thing and uniqueness of the mission is that it will remain active in all types of weather, basically it is a joint project of Pakistan and China. Some parts of which are completely manufactured in Pakistan.
According to Dr. Usman Iftikhar, the said communication satellite will also be useful for the most important needs of today like fiber optic in the northern regions of the country and remote areas of Balochistan, while this communication satellite can be used in case of any technical failure in the mobile network.
