ISLAMABAD / KARACHI: In a historic event, Pakistan’s first satellite mission from China was launched to the moon at 2:28 PM, which will reach the moon’s orbit in 5 days.
Dr Khurram Khurshid, a member of the core committee of the Institute of Space Technology, said the satellite mission took off from China’s Hainan Space Launch Site towards the moon.
The satellite was designed and developed by IST in collaboration with China’s Shanghai University and Pakistan’s National Space Agency Sparco.
This satellite mission will orbit the moon for 3 to 6 months and take pictures of the lunar surface. For which two optical cameras are also installed in this satellite.
It may be recalled that Pakistan signed space research agreements with China in 2019 to train astronauts and launch missions in space.
