Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah laid the foundation of Pakistan and Mao Zedong laid the foundation of modern China, and the historical relations between Pakistan and China are based on mutual respect and trust.

He expressed these views while meeting prominent Chinese artist and sculptor Master Yuan Shikham and addressing the unveiling ceremony of his statues on the occasion of the Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday on December 25 and Mao Zedong’s birthday on December 26.
Chairman Mao Zedong’s niece Madam Ma Xia-ching was also present on the occasion. The Prime Minister thanked Master Yuan for creating the magnificent sculptures of the Quaid-e-Azam and Chairman Mao and paid tribute to him.
