Peshawar: Election results of five constituencies of National Assembly and Provincial Assembly in Pakhtunkhwa were challenged.
The election results of the constituencies challenged by the candidates in the Election Tribunal include National Assembly Constituency NA 28, Provincial Assembly Constituencies PK 74, PK 75, PK 78, PK 101 and PK 102. are
Election Commission, District Returning Officer, Returning Officer and successful candidates have been made parties in the petition challenging the election results.
It has been contended in the petition that the DROs and ROs made changes in Form 45 and changed the results. The petitioner was successful in Form 45 whereas Form 47 declared the opposite candidate successful.
The Election Tribunal has been requested to compile the results as per Form 45. The bags in which the ballot papers are lying should be brought safely. The results should be compiled by verifying the votes.
According to the petitioners, they have also filed an application for recount in the Election Commission, but their applications have been rejected without any reason. Election Commission had the responsibility to ensure transparent elections.
Candidate Sajid Nawaz from NA 28, Arbab Jandan from PK 74, Malik Shahab from PK 75 have filed an application in the Election Tribunal. Apart from them, Arbab Asim from PK 78, Malik Adnan from PK 101 and Shah Muhammad from PK 102 have applied in the Election Tribunal.
