Islamabad: A five-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Supreme Court Qazi Faiz Isa, heard the government’s appeals against the NAB amendments. Founder PTI appeared in court through video link.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan asked PTI founder Imran Khan that Mr. Khan, would you like to give arguments yourself or would you depend on Khawaja Haris?
Imran Khan replied that Sir, I want to give arguments for half an hour, I do not get material for preparation, nor am I allowed to meet the lawyers, Sir, let me meet my legal team, I don’t know, then I will get a chance to talk to you. Or not, on February 8, a major robbery took place in the country.
The Chief Justice said that don’t do this at this time, we are hearing the NAB amendment case.
Imran Khan said that two of our petitions related to violation of human rights are with you, listen to them. The Chief Justice asked PTI founder, who are your lawyers in this? So Imran Khan replied that my lawyer is Hamid Khan.
Qazi Faiz Isa said that Hamid Khan is a senior lawyer, he had to go out of the country, so he was given a date of his will in a case.
Founder PTI said that Chief Justice Sahib, there is a one-window operation in the jail, which is run by a colonel.
The court directed the founder PTI to provide the complete record of the case today and ordered that the lawyers should meet them.
Justice Athar Manullah said that it is hoped that Khawaja Haris will not be arrested.
